It seems the bold move to shield our vulnerable from the clutches of predatory private equity in social care has been, shall we say, shelved. Wes Streeting, a prominent voice in the Labour party, has revealed that his rather pointed plan to ban these „private equity sharks“ from the sector was unceremoniously ditched from the manifesto. Personally, I find this a rather disheartening development, a stark illustration of how even the most sensible policy ideas can be watered down by political pragmatism, or perhaps, a touch of timidity.
